EDUCATIONAL STANDARDS:
The NSW School of Natural Medicine will adopt policies and management practices which maintain high professional standards in the marketing and delivery of educational and training services, and which safeguard the interests of students.
The School is guided by the following legislation:
- Vocational Education & Training Act 2005 (the VET Act) and
- The Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 (the ESOS Act)
and guidelines issued by VETAB.
The VET Act and the ESOS Act can be accessed through a number of legal information websites, including:
The School's legislation log, available in the 'Forms & Downloads' section, also outlines other legislation that needs to be adhered to.
EXEMPTIONS:
Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL) may be granted at the discretion of the Principal. Application must be made in writing accompanied by all relevant documentation and is subject to a fee of $70 per module.
REFUND POLICY:
(a) Fees will be refunded in full if a minimum of four weeks notice is given prior to commencement of the module.
(b) Fees will be refunded, minus a $75 administration fee if less than two weeks notice prior to commencement is given.
(c) Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable if a student withdraws after commencement of the module.
DEFERMENT & TRANSFERS:
Deferment of a module, or transfer from one module to another may be granted at the discretion of Administration. If approval is granted, the deferred module must be recommenced within one year and is subject to any fee increase over this period.
CERTIFICATES & DIPLOMAS:
Upon completion of a stream, after all academic, clinical (where applicable), professional and financial requirements are met, a Certificate or Diploma will be issued free of charge. If a Certificate or Diploma is lost or damaged, a replacement can be provided at a cost of $50.
ATTENDANCE:
Eighty percent attendance is required for satisfactory completion of every module. This may be waived in special circumstances at the discretion of the Principal.
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
For general interest programmes we encourage students from all backgrounds and age groups. For professional Training courses, matriculation or mature age entry is sufficient, however some previous study of biological sciences may be an advantage.
GRIEVANCES:
While we trust these will be rare, should a student have any complaint, problem or grievance, it is requested that an appointment be made as early as possible with the Director of Education. The Student's Formal Grievance Form can be found in the 'Forms & Downloads' section.
