Advanced Diploma of Homoeopathy

Code

HLT60602

Description

This is a four-year stream, leading to a professional qualification as a homoeopathic practitioner. Graduates are eligible to join the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS).

Homoeopathy is the study of the human condition and the life force that governs it. The principles that govern the process of healing by homoeopathy are at one with the principles and laws that govern all of life. The foundation of Homoeopathic practice considers man not only as an individual but as a complete unit in himself in which all parts comprise a well balanced whole.

The aim of homoeopathic treatment is to stimulate and strengthen the patient's vital force and establish complete balance within that person i.e. on the physical, mental and emotional levels. Homoeopathy recognises humans as more than flesh and bone - it recognises that first and foremost we are an energy field. When this vital energy is depleted illness then ensues. Homoeopathy is a specialised system of medicine and it is inexpensive, safe, natural, non-addictive and effective for both acute and chronic diseases.

The Homeopathic curriculum covers: The History of Homoeopathy; Sources of Remedies, Homoeopathic Laws, Potencies & Preparations; Disease & Vital Force; Miasms; Constitutions; Modalities; First Aid; Practical Homoeopathic Pharmacy; Case Taking & Repertorisation; Nosodes; Materia Medica; Homoeopathic Remedy Themes & Families; Therapeutics; Research & Development; Computerised Homoeopathy.

Students are required to do a minimum of 440 hours of Clinical Training where they observe, dispense and eventually conduct consultations with clients in the School's Homoeopathic Clinics. The School believes that this experiential learning is a critical component of the studies, allowing the student to develop a high level of clinical skill and confidence and preparing them to be successful practitioners.

The Advanced Diploma of Homoeopathy curriculum is taught over 36 weeks per year, and is designed to be as flexible as possible, allowing students to design a programme of study that suits their needs. Most modules are held in the evenings or on weekends and a number of Health Science units are undertaken by distance education.
