Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy

Code

HLT60502

Description

The Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy is a comprehensive programme, which may be studied over four years full time, or up to seven years part time. It comprises more than 3,000 hours of tuition leading to professional qualifications as a Naturopathic practitioner.

Naturopathy encompasses many different natural healing modalities, allowing the naturopathic practitioner to draw on a wide range of treatment skills.

The Naturopathic programme at the NSW School of Natural Medicine combines age-old practical and effective therapeutic methods with modern scientific research findings. The resultant cutting edge system of natural therapeutics is capable of quickly and painlessly assisting clients to achieve optimum health.

Students are required to complete a minimum of 782 hours of Clinical Training where they observe, dispense and eventually conduct consultations with clients in the School's Body Work, Naturopathic and Homoeopathic Clinics. The School believes that this experiential learning is a critical component of each student's studies, allowing the student to develop a high level of clinical skill and confidence and preparing them to be successful in practice.

The Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy curriculum is taught over 36 weeks per year, and is designed to be as flexible as possible, allowing students to design a programme of study that suits their needs. Most modules are held in the evenings or on weekends and a number of Health Science units may be undertaken by distance education.
