Advanced Diploma of Nutritional Medicine

Good nutrition has long been recognised as an important part of good health and long held naturopathic principles of diet and health are now being vindicated by current scientific research.

Extensive research is being conducted world wide into the effectiveness of treating different diseases with nutritional supplementation. Not surprisingly these natural supplements, which assist and stimulate the natural healing forces of the body, have been found to be effective in treating a wide range of diseases as well as in the prevention of disease.

The Advanced Diploma stream aims to give students detailed and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of nutrition from both the naturopathic/wholistic and biochemical perspective, using the most up-to-date research available as well as traditional naturopathic literature.

Students are required to complete a minimum of 440 hours of Supervised Clinical Training where they observe, dispense and eventually conduct consultations with clients in the School’s Nutrition Clinics. The School believes that this experiential learning is a critical component of the studies, allowing the student to develop a high level of clinical skill and confidence and preparing them to be successful practitioners.

The Advanced Diploma of Nutrition curriculum is taught over 36 weeks per year, and is designed to be as flexible as possible, allowing students to design a programme of study that suits their needs. Most modules are held in the evenings or on weekends and a number of Health Science units are available by distance education.
